Every time somebody turns on the set,
I go into the other room and read a book.
(Groucho Marx, 1890-1977)
What do you think about this quote and how does it apply to you?

I think this quote is one of those which don't apply to this time.
It probably means that there's nothing useful on tv, and that makes you do something else-
I think it means that TV is boring, ant there is nothing useful on it.
I think he ment that he doesn't like TV. He likes books much more.
I think it means that on TV it is nothing usefull for life and that TV "poneumlja"(nevem besede v ang. :D)peoples except "Animal planet & Discovery"
Yes i agree with Groucho but it doesn`t appy to me because i rather watch tv than read a book but the people are different and someone loves reading books and hates wathing tv(someone said me that tv makes him crazy)
I think it means that is book more instructive than TV.
I think that is book as television interesting but to me it is apply television because you have all carefully showed.

I think he meant that TV educates stupidilities. He recommends reading because from books we build knowledge.
TV shows many violence, so I think that reading a book is beter
